Dear Fairmont Family,
We cannot wait to see your child tomorrow. Please read the information below for important transportation information. Remember that families should say their goodbye’s before getting on the bus, or at the front of school. We will have plenty of staff available to walk your child inside and get them where they need to go.
School starts at 8:00 am, and children may be dropped off beginning at 7:40 am.

Bus
If you reside in Fairmont’s neighborhood district, bus transportation is available for MOST children. Please check E-Link this evening for the most updated bus stop information including pick-up and drop-off times. Click here to go to the Transportation website. You will need your child’s student ID as the user name and password for this site. This number can be found at the top of their snapcode letter.
Please be at the bus stop 5-10 minutes prior to the pick-up time. There may be some delays the first few days of school. Please contact our transportation department if the bus is later than 30 minutes after the scheduled arrival time at 812-542-4707.
Car Rider
Please rearrange your carseat, or seat your child in the car, so that they are behind the driver. Children will need to exit and enter their car from the curb (driver) side so they are not crossing in front of cars.
All car riders must be dropped off and picked up at the car rider door (#5). You can enter car rider line off of Roanoke, behind the school. A reminder that all car riders must have a car rider number. These numbers will be handed out the first day of school in car rider line. Please help your child memorize their car rider number. Students may be dropped off starting at 7:40 a.m. Please do not drop your child off before an adult is on duty at 7:40 am. Afternoon dismissal starts at 2:20. Students arriving after 8 a.m. are considered tardy and must be signed-in by an adult at our welcome center (door #1). Please be patient. It will be faster after the first week or so.
*Please make sure your child’s teacher knows how your child is getting home from school each day. If there is a change in your student’s transportation please call the office at 812-542-5501. Students must be picked up by 2:40.
